Basic Peer Support equips Helpers with practical skills and a repeatable framework for connecting and caring effectively when someone is stressed, overwhelmed, grieving, struggling, or in crisis.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Peer support starts with people who are already trusted.
Basic Peer Support is designed for Helpers who are positioned to notice when someone is struggling and step into a supportive conversation.
That may include peer supporters, chaplains, ministry leaders, first responders, supervisors, wellness team members, caregivers, or others asked to provide non-clinical support.
THE ROLE
A Helper is not expected to diagnose, treat, or fix.
The role is to connect, listen, care, respond appropriately, and help someone access additional support when needed.
Trust, relationship, compassion, and a willingness to care.
A practical framework, helping skills, boundaries, judgment, and guided practice.
